1.Camera Basics: In this section I will explain in depth the essential and basic concepts of photography, and how to apply them specifically underwater.

  • Focal Length

  • Depth of field

  • Aperture

  • Shutter Speed

  • ISO

  • White Balance

2.Lenses: Here I will talk about the main lenses that are used underwater (and some not so common) and why these lenses are used. I will also tell you which are my favorite lenses for each situation or subject to photograph.

  • Fisheye

  • Wide Angle

  • Mid-Range Lenses

  • Macro

  • Micro-Wide angle

3.Light: Probably one of the most interesting sections of my masterclass. Here I will talk to you about light and its behavior in water, the quality of light, and its power.

4.Light sources: Here I will tell you about the different light sources that exist, and how to use them in different scenarios.

  • Natural light

  • Strobes

  • Video lights

5.Light Positioning: Using different graphic schemes, I’ll explain you the best ways to position your lights, to obtain optimal results, soft and smooth lighting, and how to avoid the very famous and hated backscatter.

6.Composition: For me, what differentiates a “photograph” from a “WOW photograph” is the composition. The same subject, with the same camera settings, in the same conditions can appear completely different depending on how you compose the image.

7.Pre-diving Routine: We have all forgotten the SD card, the battery, the lens cap on, or even the camera has flooded. Here I will teach you my secret so that this never happens to you again.

8.Maintenance: Something as important as maintaining the equipment so it responds in the most extreme situations will be broken down in this section.

Having the equipment ready, clean and functional to respond in the most extreme situations is something that is done every day, routinely. Here I will explain the basic concepts of maintenance, care and transportation of your equipment.

9.Editing: The second most important part of photography, the other 50%, is the editing process. Here I will tell you the basics of photo editing for getting the best results on your images. A class on all the most advanced editing concepts would take us as many hours, so once you know these steps, you will be capable to sign up for my Underwater Photography Editing Masterclass.
